Gwen Stefani Inspired Look

March 24, 2016

I've always had a thing for Gwen Stefani's makeup, hair and clothes. She's a huge beauty icon for me! Here's a look I did on my good friend who I love to steal and dress up like a Barbie.

It's really a subtly glamorous look. I doesn't look like it, but this is actually a brown smokey eye. Embark by Mac is the main lid colour. Then her eyes are lined with a shimmery copper which is Antiqued by Mac. The key to this look is tight-lining the eyes with a white liner. It totally changes the look of the eye for the better. Her hair was smoothed out and curled. A mens hair gel was used to get rid of flyaways. Then back combed in little sections everywhere. Each piece of hair was teased away from her face and then flicked backed with the pointed end of a comb. Then I brought it up and put it in a messy bun. Messed it up a lil and viola. This is not as big as Gwens look, but it follows the same technique. You can be sure she used a lot of hair spray to hold up those curls!
